The article presents an overview of the free trade zone (FTZ) program. A FTZ is a secured, federal government authorized establishment that is considered to be outside the jurisdiction of the U.S. Customs but is under U.S. Customs supervision and control. It is noted that domestic business profits from the FTZ if it decides to deliver or re-export its goods through the trade zone which offers the benefit of the non-imposition of custom duties, taxes, and bonds.
